Just starting out!

Well, I have decided to start a blog here just for the baby!! I have had this forever, but have never used it. My husband and I are pregnant with our first baby due May 6, 2009. We worked for a long time to get here, so we are enjoying every minute of it!! We have been married for 8 years and we bought our first house in April 2007. We soon started trying to conceive our first baby, but we weren't very successful. So, in April of 2008 we started seeing a fertility doctor and in June, July, and August we had fertility treatments. The August one finally took and our dream came true, we were going to be parents!!
So, that's where we are now! Some little updates, everything has been going well in our pregnancy! We had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and then again at 12 weeks. I was able to hear the heartbeat for the first time at 10 weeks, which was pretty early, but I was so excited!! Dave heard it the following week for the first time and it was so much stronger than the week before. We have another ultrasound on December 19th and we hope to find out the baby's gender!!
On November 7th, I felt baby for the first time. It was a little poke, but it was cool!! I was about 14 1/2 weeks then. The movement hasn't become totally consistent yet, but I am hoping soon. I have felt little flutters and movements here and there, but nothing like what I felt on the 7th.

We met with a doula last week and decided to go with her. My plan is to have a natural birth and I really wanted to have a doula, so we found one!
Last week we were talking and I said we don't have a name for the baby yet. Everyone calls their baby something until they know what they are having and then some people just call the baby by the what they want to name them. Jokingly, Dave said "How about Nermal?" We laughed and I said that I loved it, so it has stuck. We call the baby Nermal now instead of it or the baby!
I have been buying cloth diapers like crazy for Nermal whenever we have a little extra money! I can't wait to use them. I have always wanted to use cloth and now I can!!
Our next big baby event after the big ultrasound will be our Michigan baby shower on December 28th. Can't wait!!
That's it for now! I'll be back with updates here and there.
