Poem written by a family friend.

Moira's Gift
She brought to her family
anticipation, and joy,
and hope.
They came together
for cake and gifts
in her honor.
And loved her in advance.
For she was cherished
long before she came to be.
Days were marked on calendars,
a room arranged and painted,
bannered with her name.
A celebration waiting.
The world is full of hurtful things.
And this silver sparkle of a child
came and went
all too soon.
Such gifts are rare.
Her family will hold her forever
in their love
and treasure her time.
And thank her for choosing them.
For, all too briefly,
There was Moira.
